    Filter JPGs for compression rate

    Irfanview is able to show the compression rate of a jpg:
    Image->Information->Compression

    Is it possible to filter jpgs for the compression rate?
    i.e.:
    Scan a foldertree recursively and show all jpgs with a compression rate higher than 90.

    No. IrfanView can only calculate the estimated compression rate on opening a file.

    One size does not fit all when it comes to selecting the optimal save quality setting. Some images, especially those containing text or other sharp outlines, acquire artefacts at quality settings above 90, while other images like landscapes or seascapes look just fine at quality settings as low as 25. I find that 50 is a good average for web images.

      I think it would be a nice feature if it could at least report the estimated compression in a text-file after a batch-scan

          Thank you. I'll have a look at it.
