Solved BPP & Colors changed by SAVE

I've tried correcting a JPG file, but every time I save it, the color is stripped and it's made B&W
The original is 24BPP, 16million colors, and the process of saving it changes it to 8BPP & 256 colors.

I've found that just opening a JPG, then saving it - does this.

Nothing in any of the options/settings was changed, and all see to be what I'd want.

Addtionally, When I view the B&W thumbnails (via option /thumbs), the images appear as if colored!!
Yet viewing them, they are still B&W.

Are you quite sure about that?

You are quite right. I don't know how or when those got changed, but both save as grayscale and save as progressive
were checked. I have NEVER changed any intentionally and didn't think of looking at that.. I went to all the other options
looking for something about 'colors' or BPP..

Weird how the thumbnail still showed colors!?!

        Thanks..
