    help improving old photos

I am attempting to improve the quality of some old photos that someone converted to digital with properties less than 50 kb.
If I choose print at original size I get a less than 1.0 x 1.0 inch print out.
If I choose 'best fit' to 4x6 paper ... the print out is fuzzy -
I have not been able to find a setting to obtain a clean crisp print out.
help !! please & thank you

You cannot make a silk purse out of a pig's ear. If you have the original prints, you can scan them again, and save them at a higher resolution.

The best freeware that I know of for enlarging photos is Smilla Enlarger. Ben Vista PhotoZoom is a commercial program.

THANK YOU thank you ... I thought I already knew the answer - but was hoping that miraculously I might be able to make that silk purse
