I have created a few APNG images to display multi-tabbed dialogues on my software reviews site to save space.
With a delay of 1000 or 2000 milliseconds the site doesn't look too busy.
APNG Assembler from Source Forge seems to do a better job at compressing the files than the previous program that I used.
If you want to produce full colour animations with transparency, then it's worth trying it out.
I exported several frames of animations from DrawPlus as PNG, or extracted all frames from a GIF using IrfanView, then combined them using APNG Assembler.
