no bug Windows 10 blocks Irfanview 4.41

Windows 10 blocks Irfanview 4.41 (I have 4.40 64bit).
Downloading the file from multiple sites receives variations on the same message - "this app is malicious and has been blocked from being run."
Some refuse to download. All downloads are blocked from running.
Is there a site I can load it from that isn't viewed so poorly?
Is there a way around Windows Defender to allow it to run?
Is there a way to include Irfanview as a "Trusted Publisher"?
But - more to the point - is this upgrade so necessary for ordinary usage that I would want to attempt running it when Windows clearly doesn't want to?

You can try downloading it from my review page but the problem is probably with your antivirus. It's obviously not a bug in IrfanView.

Yes, it's always worth upgrading. Irfan Skiljan fixes numerous bugs and adds new features with each version.

The 32-bit version is recommended for ordinary use as it supports all of the plug-ins. If you need to work with very large files, over 25 Megapixels, then try the 64-bit version, but don't complain if some features are not supported.
