no bug Bad unicode text in thumbnails MRUD list

In the MRUD list in thumbnail viewer, Unicode dir names are not displayed properly. See attached screenshot. It looks like UTF8 displayed as ANSI.
The same problem is in the "File - Open Recent files" list in the main windows.
Observed in version 4.41 on WinXP SP3, Vista SP2 32 bit Czech, Win10 64bit Czech.
In the preferences, the "Load Unicode plugin at program start" is checked.

It is a plugin-related problem, it only happens with 32-bit version and plugin enabled. 64-bit version (which has no unicode plugin) shows non-ascii directory names correctly on my win7/64 system.

Searching the forum shows a long tradition of this kind of problems. If I remember correctly, this was nicely called "basic unicode support". It never worked perfectly.

Yes, basically, it is not a bug because the Unicode plugin was only ever designed to provide basic support. Rewriting the program so that the plugin is not needed would be the ideal solution, but may be more work than can be justified by a minor loss of function for some users. If you can open the files, it doesn't really matter too much if the names are not displayed correctly. The correctly spelt names can be seen in Windows Explorer.
