Can't read file header error when opening file with certain character in folder name

    Reported Can't read file header error when opening file with certain character in folder name

    Was organizing some of my photos today, and noticed when they opened in the new folder they IrfanView showed the error:

    "Can't read file header !
    Unknown file format, empty/damaged file or file not found !"

    I am Slovak, and we have some special characters in our alphabet, one of which is ?. When the folder name contains this character, IrfanView shows the above error when opening images in the folder, but when the name does not contain this character (if I substitute it with regular c for example), the images open with no issues.

    Please update to IrfanView 4.50 which is now Unicode aware. If using IrfanView 4.42 or 4.44 32-bit you can enable the Unicode plugin in settings, languages.

    Please update your forum profile too if you're no longer using 4.42.
