Forwarded Decode Error on loading DDS (Driect Draw) Files

Having a lot of trouble trying to open .dds formats.

Process:
1. I reinstall irfanview 4.10 with all other extensions selected.
2. I then download all the plugins in the .exe to "C:\Program Files\IrfanView\"
3. I open IrfanView and try the .dds file but it says " : Decode Error, Can't read file:"

Any help?

Double-check that the format.dll plugins are loaded from Help, Plugins.

Zip a small test file that gives this error and attach it for others to test. I don't have any Direct Draw Surface files.

I know this is an old thread, but in 4.41 I still get an error when trying to view the attached DDS files and the Face.dds file attached above.

Someone on the Serif forum was asking about DDS support for PhotoPlus, but so far I could not find any DDS files that IrfanView can open. I sent the attached files to Irfan Skiljan for his attention.
