    v4.20 slideshow crashes

In 4.20 I cannot get sideshow to make an .exe without dumping out of Irfanview. The resultant exe file does not play.
Is this a bug..the older version i have works fine.

No way to tell with the little amount of information you have given us.

On the slideshow dialogue, click on save filenames as text file. Open the text file and see if you have some unusual file types in the list. Take those files out and see if it still crashes. How many files are there? How many Mbytes total?

I did save the txt file and opened it in an older Irfanview version on another windows XP SP3 machine, which correctly gave me an exe file..still no, luck with 4.20. I will try to look at the files, Although since they worked ok in the tests without making an exe and then in the older program, I don't see what file could be strange to Irfan view, one of the strengths of which is the ability to handle almost any known file.
Thanks for the thoughts and help.

Have you tried making the same slideshow in an older version on the same computer? Where are you playing the EXE files generated? Was the EXE created in 4.2 successfully, it just won't play? Have you tried making any EXE slideshows in 4.2 successfully? Have you studied the possiblities?

.. and make sure you have the latest version of slideshow.exe in your plugin folder (v4.2.0.0, mine is dated 18th July 2008).

Mij is right, did you upgrade your plugins when you installed IrfanView 4.2?
