Reported V4.23/...: Exif is Wrongly Named as EXIF

Surprising, and trivial, but maybe should be corrected.

EXIF data should be named as Exif data on dialgues and in help files.

IPTC is the correct capitalisation, but not EXIF.

who says Exif is corect and EXIF is not ?
I know from school that all acronyms must be capitalized. As EXIF stands for Exchangeable image file format it's an acronym and should be capitalized in my oppinion. I read that in british english acronyms are not capitalized but in most languages (including mine) this is a rule.

That's why I say that it is surprising. Most acronymns are indeed capitalised, but not Exif.

I must ask this question again: Why are you so sure Exif is correct and EXIF is wrong ?
The official specification paper says Exif , on the other hand the libexif website says EXIF

I personally preffer EXIF, because it's an acronym. I don't mind reading Exif, as I don't mind read it exif.

If you talk about language rules, it seems correct to capitalize acronyms. You can use it either ways without being considered as a mistake.

I think, that is not a serious problem!
But if you wants to be correct, then you should take the accurate name!

That means: Official abbreviation is Exif, not EXIF

wikipedia is not an authority in this matter.
The originators of EXIF write Exif in their specifications, and everybody else (including myself) wiil continue to write EXIF.
So, indeed, why correct something that does not need correction. Either way, EXIF or Exif is good.
