Confirmed Best fit Aspect ratio not working on print

Version 4.23 and 4.25 maybe others. When choosing Best fit (aspect ratio) when using print Preview or printing, pictures are stretched some. My test example (from Information screen) is a jpg resolution 300 x 300, 3000x2000 pixels, Print size 10.0 x 6.7 inches. For printing I am using a Phaser860DP with Letter size paper in Landscape. Position centered, no Headnote, or Footnote. If Print Size is set for Original, preview looks OK, if I select "Best Fit (aspect ratio) the picture is stretched to fill the preview vertically and the horizontal appears to remain on changed, it will print like the preview. If I use "Custom" I can trial and error width or length (aspect ratio checked) to fit the picture with out stretching. But I have trusted the "Best fit to page (aspect ratio)" and may have printed some really distorted stuff by not double checking.

Doesn't look right here either. See the attached screen shot. The printed image dimensions are given as 10.5" x 8"

    The help file says:
Best fit to page puts the image on the page as large as it can, without altering the dimensions/ratio.

    Note: Aspect ratio IS used.
    I don't understand why it should not be 10.5" x 7"
    Can anyone else explain?

Looks like a big bug in a long time. Quite strange indeed, especially since the preview is reversed (i.e. width shows as the unfilled dimension instead of height). Must have something to do with a specific aspect ratio range, as not all images have this problem.

Clearly something wrong there. The preview can confuse because it displays the printable area not the full extent of the paper, so it changes as you select different printers.
It is not that though. There are definitely errors in the calculation of Best fit (aspect ratio).

All images I have tryed do this.

I have tried a few more images and "Best fit" does not seem ever to maintain Aspect ratio on print or print preview. Is there an example of when Best fit actually does maintain aspect ratio. I would think one or two examples of it working would be helpful to debug the cause of it not working.

Shouldn't this bug report progress to the Confirmed Stage.

The Best fit to page (aspect ratio) option still changes the aspect ratio

Test in 4.27 still does not work correctly. The Best fit to page (aspect ratio) option still changes the aspect ratio.

Tested in 4.28 still does not work correctly

Tested in 4.28 still does not work correctly. In Printing the Best fit to page (aspect ratio) option still changes the aspect ratio and it should not change the aspect ratio.

Hey Bhikkhu Pesala, Please can you report this bug to the proper people.

It is a bug. It seems like a small arithmetic error. I would think if the right person knew it would be fixed.
                  Thank you.
