Installation of Irfan in Windows 10 broke another icons in Start menu

I found some strange issue. If Irfan is installed on Windows 10, then another icons in Start menu are broke with Irfan icon (when typing app name in start menu)

Examples:

• Skype
• Office
• Spotify
• et..

it seems to be broken icon cache but I can´t resolve it

I have excatly the same problem! For me it starts with the calculator and Spotify, but it gets worse of time. I tried everything I could find regarding clearing tumbnails, but nothing helps

Have you installed IrfanView using the installer from the official site or from Microsoft Store? There seems to be a connection between Microsoft Store and this problem. Have the icons started changing immediately after the installation?

I've downloaded the installer from the official site, the problems started a few days later. The start menu itself is ok (for me at least), it happens when I'm searching for a certain product, as you can see on the photo

So that's not it. I've never seen this problem in person and I've seen lots of IrfanView installations. I honestly have no idea what could go wrong.

This problem was already discussed in this old topic.

There is a guide to fix the problem, but still nobody knows what exactly triggers the problem.
