Reported Save-As Crashes Irfanview on 15% of JPEGs

Attached are several jpgs which cause IrfanView to crash when performing a save-as.
There do not seem to be any other issues with these photos, except that they were re-sampled and compressed with "Riot" @ http://download.cnet.com/RIOT/3000-1...08.htmltarget=
Unfortunately there is no debug info as to why this is happening.
I would like to use this tool but can't justify it with these serious, frequent issues.

Probably the wrong version of the plugin.

I don't have any crashes here. According to the IrfanView plugins page this is the current version in http://www.irfanview.info/files/iv_formats.zip

RIOT - (version 0.3.3.0): allows IrfanView to save optimized JPG/GIF/PNG files

The one at CNET is a later version number, but an older date, which I don't understand.

The current version of the RIOT plugin is 0.4.6.0.
You can download it from the riot homepage.

I can use both plugin version without any problem.
