No problem on Windows XP Home SP3. Presumably you have enabled the Unicode plugin in Properties, Language, or you wouldn't be able to load any of the files.

Was it checked with the newest IrfanView Version (4.35) ?
I had no problem in IV 4.35 together with your test files.

It works for me with the Unicode plugin installed. Perhaps you need to update your plugins for 4.35? Check in Help, About for the ANSI2UNICODE.DLL

I keep thinking this might be an XPSP3 issue. Does IV's ANSI2UNICODE plugin depend on something, a language pack, NETframework, that has to be installed?

With the Language/Plugin enabled, IV cannot view images with unicode and will garble filenames if an image is dragged-and-dropped. (With the plugin disabled, IV still can't view images, but the filenames become '???'.)

With ANSI2UNICODE disabled, would IV use XP's language packs to view non-Latin characters?
