I've used IRFanView for years and it's great. FYI, I'm an experience individual with 45+ years in application development so I don't come lightly to this decision for a feature request. I checked the other feature requests and was a bit surprised that this hasn't been previously requested.
Can you add the ability to change the filename case to 'lowercase' or 'UPPERCASE'?
I already use the suggestions on the Name pattern Options to change 'JPG' to 'jpg' as well as using the name pattern to define my own name.
However, if I have a client that sends me a bunch of files with names likes 'BEA01A.JPG', 'BEA01B.JPG', etc. and I need them converted to 'bea01-a.jpg', 'bea01-b.jpg', etc., I can only use the Options to change 'BEA' to 'bea-' and the 'JPG' to 'jpg', thus giving me the filenames 'bea01-A.jpg', 'bea01-B.jpg', etc. You can see the issue.
If we had the Option to change case, then I could just add the option to change 'BEA' to 'bea-', set the option to 'lowercase' and it would change the 'A', 'B', etc. to lowercase, thus giving me 'bea01-a.jpg', 'bea01-b.jpg', etc.
Thanks for creating such a great program no matter what you decide.
