Currently the "Profile" list is empty. I think it makes sense that IrfanView installer also installs a default profile so we can always load it back.

I don't see the point. Users will have different preferences. Just save a profile and name it as "Default." Then you can return to your default whenever you wish.Before you post ... Edit your profile • IrfanView 4.67 • Windows 10 Home 19045.2486
