Requested Copy Cut Paste Shortcuts in Thumbnail

    Hi,

I'm a frequent user of Irfanview for many many things.

I've never really liked TCM and am not familiar with it's shortcuts for copying and moving, and would like to be able to use Win explorer Ctrl C,X,V. The feature is missing in the Thumbnails Viewer.

    Thanks in advance.

If you want to use the slow and inefficient Windows Explorer click and scroll methods then use Windows Explorer.

IrfanView's thumbnail viewer is designed to move and copy files more efficiently. F8 will open the copy diialogue where you can choose from one of fourteen predefined favourite folders to copy the files to. Once you have used it a few times, you need just two key strokes to move or copy files F8, 1-0,b-e, etc., or F7, 1-0,b-e etc.

I know this. And it's not about speed. It's about a surplus menu that I don't want to see and rather limited options for fast file moving. I usually have to move or copy into 1000 different folders and just not enough predefined shortcuts.

I use the win explorer and sometimes the open menu from other programs that have no TCM fast shortcuts, but they have Win exp Commands.

So, yes I want to use the slow and inefficent Win exp click and scroll. :P

It does not bother TCM comands anyway, and i think it should be put. There will be many more users of Irfanview just by this.

I know it's an old thread but also a reason why I am not using IrfanView as a default photo viewer - can't quickly copy+paste from thumbnail view to one of many opened explorer windows when say sorting photos from my phone into folders. It would be a very useful but unfortunately still missing feature.

Drag and Drop in the Thumbnail viewer can also be used to copy (or move, with shift) files.

Thank you Bhikkhu for a nice workaround - can be useful with slightly changed workflow - use mouse instead of keyboard and put directories with sorted photos close to the source folder in a tree, not optimal but bearable.

Hope cut/copy/paste/ will finally find the way to IV as these are pretty easy to implement according to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9...es-via-windows.
