Irfanview 4.53 can show an animated webp, but I cannot edit it

Currently using Iview 4.53 32 bit-
I thought I'd try editing a Webp file with Irfanview this time. The file displays OK, including its animation which I can start and stop, but that's about all.
Most of the Irfanview editing items are greyed out. Even the 'save items' are greyed out.
I have installed the plugins and the help / installed plugins says I have WEBP.DLL 4.51
Is there something I am missing?

You're not missing anything. IrfanView cannot edit or create animated WebP images. It can only view them.
