Only show thumbnail of file , where file size is below a certain value
Is there a option?, when browsing a directory tree of images , for files that are above a certain specified size to be ignored.
ie do not show as a thumbnail ..... Thanks
I think the best that you can do is to ignore certain file types (such as RAW), which tend to be large, by using Custom File types in Properties, Extensions.

I was looking for a option , like ignore files above a certain size. Unfortunately for me the tree of files I want to browse via thumbnails has random files that are quite large, when the thumbnail scanner hits one , PC grinds to a halt, after some time , maybe minutes it comes back and is responsive. I saw this option in the thumbnail viewer that comes with photoshop cs5. Is it worth request ion this as a option - ie a enhancement?
I don't think it would be implemented. A request has been made several times for thumbnails to be cached — that would be a better solution, but it hasn't been implemented yet.
What I do is move any very large images, such as NASA satellite images to their own folder, so that they're not mixed with average sized images. A directory structure with lots of folders, but not too many subfolders is easiest to manage. I organise my pictures by file format, then have subfolders within each format: e.g. \Pictures\PNG\Program Icons\ or \Pictures\JPEG\Buddhism
