Solved Screen goes dark

Recently from one of the last updates, while opening IrfanView my screen darkens. Opening a file will light it up but not as bright as without IV.
It happens only with IV, so I guess it has something to do with a primary setup of the screen driver.
I'm running Win7/64bit.

I cannot imagine IrfanView doing anything to the rest of the screen. Is colour management enabled in Properties?

I was not aware of the many possibilities in "Properties". Background was set to Black which came with a recent upgrade. Now it is OK.
