Why when left clicking to make selection, to add text or to highlight area to crop

Does the screen keep changing to a screen with the font - C: (path I believe it called) printed on top right hand corner, I press to ESC and then sometimes it ESC to the program box, but mostly the program closes down.

Have been getting on great, but as soon as I click once to make a selection, the screen changes, if rarely it doesn't the selection box doesn't even stay. aggghhhh

I have never seen this behaviour.

Try reinstalling IrfanView and the plugins. The latest version is 4.44.
