Slow to zoom past 100%

Am getting very slow performance in zooming once I reach 100%, have turned off re sample function in full screen options, but this makes no difference, (is slow in full screen or normal screen.) Is taking around 8 secs to zoom each 10% step on a 3.5 meg jpeg (from 8.5 meg 20D).

CPU usage around 10-15% for under 100% zoom, around 55% for over 100% zoom steps.
Have no problem in other programs. Just IrfanView.

Any ideas

That's the way it is. Just use Window mode. Alter + Shift + C, M, S, T will turn off the screen clutter.
