How to change the Default "Look In" directory for Batch Conversion

    Hi All,

When I run Irfan and select Batch Conversion/Rename the default directly that the "Look in" is set to is not what I would like.

Can this default be changed even if it is a registry hack or something.

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike

In the Properties/Settings dialog "Misc.2" you can specify that the batch dialog start in the last used batch folder, and also set the default "open in" directory for the program.

IrfanView keeps all its settings - except for file associations, of course - in an INI file, either in its own folder (when installed for all users) or in your personal Windows profile area.
    Its: Belongs to "It"
It's: Shortened form of "It is"
    ---------------------
    Lose: Fail to keep
    Loose: Not tight

    ---------------------
    Plurals do not require apostrophes

That is not my experience. My default program start folder is ..\My Pictures\ but my default batch folder is ..\My Pictures\PNG\

Nothing I do seems to change the default batch folder. It does not remember the last used folder, nor does it change if I select a different default program startup folder.

        Thanks very much, that's perfect

Are you shure your IV is reading the right ini file? Try moving the IV-ini file to another place and start IV again and re-enter your My Pictures folder. It should work now, at least it does on my system with version 4 and 4.1.
