I need transparency for Overlay Images

I would love to see a simple basic GREEN SCREEN option added to Ifran View

I have no idea what this would do in IrfanView. Please explain.

You have an "insert overlay / watermark image" already.

      OK
You have an "insert overlay / watermark image" already.
A Green Screen inserter is similar
but would allow the user to insert an image behind a green screen image.
This allows a chosen background (right) to be inserted behind a suitable Green Screen photo (left).

I'm sure (but don't know how) a fairly simple add on could do it.
It has to be similar to the "insert overlay / watermark image"

So what's wrong with saving your Green screen image as a PNG with transparency, and using that as your watermark/overlay image?

It sounds promising and I didn't know that was an option.
Could you explain how it works ?
          (menu points etc)

Save as PNG and select the transparent colour. Note that the green background of your JPG image is no use as it is because it is composed of many different shades of green. I used the IrfanPaint floodfill tool to fill it with a uniform colour.

Then open the background image, and Insert the watermark (green screen) image from the edit menu.

Then open the background image, and Insert the watermark (green screen) image from the edit menu.

Save as PNG is OK - Menu - File - Save as - Dateityp(german) PNG - Save
              That's OK
" select the transparent colour." ? How, what, where ? Where is this ? Is this a Menu point somewhere?
              Also
"IrfanPaint floodfill tool" where is this?

Transparent option is on the save dialogue.

Press F12 to run the IrfanPaint plugin.

Set the tolerance for the Floodfill Tool to about 50

Years using IfranView and I never knew IfranPaint was there.
                  Always something new here
I'll need a while to play around with this

                  cheers
