How to insert a rotated rectangular picture

Hi everyone!

I have just been using irfanview recently and I am still trying to discover how to do certain things. I have two questions - one probably an easy issue, the other one a bit trickier:

1) I want to insert a smaller picture into a larger one. I read that you have to draw a selection box, cut it out and then insert the small picture by using "paste". However, somehow this doesn´t work for me. When I try to do that (or drag the small picture into the larger one), the whole picture gets replaced. What am I doing wrong here?

2) Now the trickier part: is it possible to draw a slightly rotated selection box? The picture I want to insert is slightly rotated (maybe 5 degrees). How can I do that?

1. From the Edit menu, insert overlay image
2. Rotate the image in the opposite direction first with custom rotation on the Image menu. Then insert the overlay image and rotate the whole image back again.
