AVI plugin to change speeds

Hi there,
I'm trying to play a WMV file and needed to play it at a faster speed but it doesn't work the regular way. Does anyone know which plugin would work for this? or can help me find it?

I get an error message when I try to access the menu to change the speed.

I can step through the video with the left/right arrow keys, and zoom in/out with + and - keys on the Numpad, but trying to bring up the speed change submenu popups up the attached error message.

My advice is to use a media player like VLC Media Player for video, and use IrfanView only for images.
