Cannot open file with central european characters in name

Irfanview will not open any file with the name "jabłko.jpg". (Note that the l in the name is the Central European l with a line through it.)

The error message is "Can't read file header ! Unknown file format or file not found !"


The file opens fine with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, and if I replace the "ł" with "l", it works OK with Irfanview.

Version 4.2 now supports Unicode via a plugin. Make sure you have the latest version and the plugins, then enable Unicode support in Properties, Misc1.

Restart IrfanView and you should be able to open your file.
