    Fit image to window when scanning

    Hi, I have IrfanView set as the default application to open scanned images. When IrfanView opens a newly scanned image, it zooms to the actual image size, which is usually larger than is visible.

    I would like IrfanView to fit a scanned image to the window size by Default. I didn't see this option in the settings page. Any ideas? Thanks!

    View, Display Options, and take your pick.

    IrfanView will remember the settings you used last time.

        No, not at present anyway. You can use Ctrl+Shift+A to open the dialog then Enter if the option you want is already selected. Doesn't save much though by the time you have organized your fingers.

            There are a few command line switches for scanning, which can make scanning easier/quicker.

            /scan - acquire the image from the TWAIN device - show TWAIN dialog
            /scanhidden - acquire the image from the TWAIN device - hide TWAIN dialog
            /batchscan=(options) - simulate menu: File->Batch Scanning

            You can turn these into IrfanView shortcuts.

              Those sound like some great suggestions. Unfortunately I have no idea how to turn the command line switches into shortcuts. How can I accomplish this? Thanks, I am a noob with regards to the command line and batch scripts.

                You just add the command line switch to the "Target" field of your shortcut to launch IrfanView. You can make a few different shortcuts using different command lines and with different icons. I use the following shortcut target to launch IrfanView:

                "C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe" /clippaste

                This launches IrfanView with the clipboard contents.

                  Beautiful. Thanks for the clarification and the quite useful /clippaste
                  cmd.

                  Cheers,
