View Thumbnails Of A Multipage Tiff

Hi guys, new to this app but have been searching the forums and net for an answer but couldn't find one, so ill just put this out there

I have a tiff image which contains multiple pages, is there a way to bring up a thumbnail view down the side of the rest of the pages while your viewing it?

not sure if im making that clear

    Thanks for the help

No. Extract all images to a temporary folder and view in the usual way using the Thumbnail viewer alongside IrfanView.

No, but you can workaround that.

Open two instances of the same file and allow one to be the one you'll view. The second one can be your thumbnails by going to View>Multipage images>Edit Multipage TIF (CTRL+Q) and moving to a page for a preview.

You can also browse the TIF automatically by using View>Multipage images>Start animation. Choose a speed.

You might also create your own thumbnails by using Bhikkhu's suggestion and creating thumbnails in batch conversion. Or you could use Create Contact Sheet and arrange the extracted images in an index that could be a separate image or starting page in the multipage TIF.

Of course, you could convert to the well supported PDF format, and make things a whole lot easier by using a reader.

Multipage Tif viewing seems overly complex

I agree that a PDF is a "better" image format, however many law offices, doctors, etc... receive tiff images from their "high end" office scanners/fax/printers. The ONLY value that Microsoft Document viewer (ugh)brings to the table is when opening a multi page image, it create thumbnails of each page on the left (like the pages button in Acrobat) . Can this be done? It would be a valuable asset to an already wonderful program.

        Operating System:
        Windows XP Pro SP3
        IrfanView Version:
        IrfanView 4.23

So, why can't you batch convert those TIFs to PDFs? Would it be too much trouble?

          You can try these viewers:
