I DID try a search. Don't assume someone is unaware of the ediquette of newsgroups just because their post count is low. Maybe they do a lot of searches.
I am using IV 4.2.3.0 and have plugin 4.2.2.0 fro recent installs. My Ghostscript installs are GPL and AFPL, which a few postings said would work with the latest versions of IV. Even if both are installed.
I've re-installed the plugins. I upgraded IV this morning.
If there is a specific ORDER to installations I've missed from the 50 pages of questions about GS plugins going back a few years, please accept my apology.
Since the change to the program version 4.22/4.23 IrfanView supports both Ghostscript versions
for reading EPS, PS and PDF format!
That means: It's possible with AFPL Ghostscript and GPL Ghostscript to read these formats!
Dependent on your operating system you must select the 32bit or the 64bit version!
You write that you have reinstalled the plugins!
Why??? It's not possible without some plugins!
You need the installed Postscript plugin (with installed Ghostscript) to read the EPS, PS and PDF format with IrfanView!
And with the installed ImPDF plugin IrfanView is able to write the PDF format!

When I found that IrfanView was not opening my postscript files, I checked to be sure I had the GS plugin installed (it was installed). Next, I downloaded the latest version of IV, and downloaded and installed the latest plugins. I said I "re-installed" the plugins because I already had the GS plugin installed. BUT I downloaded and re-installed all the plugins to make sure all my plugins were up to date. Is this wrong?
My Ghostscript software (the 64-bit version on my 64-bit system) works fine outside of IrfanView, and is installed in the default pathway. Thanks for any help you can give.
And I have used also the default installation path for Ghostscript!
Additional I have installed the pdf printer FreePDF XP to print pdf files from any (other) application!
And everything works very well!

You're obviously unaware of the etiquette since you did not tell us what you had tried from the advice given in all of those threads. You did not say what your OS was, or which version of Ghostscript you had installed. If you cannot be bothered to provide basic information, what is the point of forum members posting again what was already said before, especially as we haven't a clue from your first post what you have tried, or what OS you're using, or even which version of IrfanView you're using.
What exactly do you want to do with PDF files in IrfanView? There are better solutions if your purpose is just viewing PDF files. As far as I can tell, about all it is useful for is saving multipage TIF as PDF.
