    hi,
    Ive just had a go at using IV for screen caps
    I got the video feed up ok
    I was saving by ctrl f11

    this sent the jpeg files to my documents

    ..... but they came out like this....

      if im taking a screenshot I just want the pic
      say 80 k or whatever,
      I dont want a pic of the surround frame !

        In a screen shot, the window is just a big graphic. The title bar, borders, sliders, even the text are just part of that graphic. There's nothing that tells IrfanView which part of the window you're interested in. You'll have to crop the screen capture manually.

          ITS a pity that you think theres no solution
          cos if I go to

          file
          acquire batch scanning

          the window comes up I hit capture still image
          and this is the result



          but having to do that procedure each time is a little
          disconcerting

          I thought I d solved it with the ctrl f11
          but it seems not.

            Have you tried "Foreground Window, Client Area"?

            If that doesn't work then try FastStone Capture — which is more flexible. Version 5.3 is freeware.
