I have the same problem, with japanese names. And the unicode plugin seems to be enabled, the box is checked.

          Hi rhiinorex and akuma2002,

I can't see any problems there!
If the unicode plugin is enabled, then (after a restart of IrfanView!) it works very well!

I obviously restarted irfanview, even my comp to be correct... The problem is still there.
And obviously, if i run Irfanview under applocale, it's working without a single problem...
It's not really a major problem for me (i can rename files lol), but at least that plugin seemed nice to me : i can watch directories/files with japanese names, then i can rename them if i want to keep them.
