Batch resize does not appear to work.

I am using the latest version of irfanview with plugins 4.28
I have a bunch of comic strips in jpeg format that Iam trying to resize
so I do not have to keep zooming in on them in order to be abale to read them

I tried for over a hour last night but nothing I do seems to work
Suggestions?

Could it be also possible that your picture folder (or the pictures) contain invalid characters?

You don't need to resize them at all. Just use View, Display options, "Fit to Window," and "Use resample for fitting."
