Can Irfanview zoom up images to have close up images?

How can Irfanview be used to get an image magnified so that it is made into a close up image?

If the information is not in the original image, there's nothing any program can do to add it. Enlarging a bitmap image will just make it blurred. Some expensive programs like PhotoZoom can do a slightly better job and smoothing enlargements, but if you want more detail, use a zoom lens and take another shot.

If you don't have the original high resolution image you cannot recover the detail in the original.
