Before I needed to reformat my computer I was using irfanview for viewing/editing RAW files (CR2). It was easy and convenient. Now that I had to reinstall this program it's not working the same. The images load VERY slowly. Before they were loading as quickly as a jpg. I could easily scroll between my RAW images and resize/edit as I went. Now it takes me almost a minute to load ONE image. I installed the plugins, and the Canon ones as well. So why are they only now loading slowly. What can I fix to make it how it was before? I have a Canon rebel T2i if that's important. I've tried other programs, and I'm so used to irfanview I'd like to continue using it.

Check the Options dialogue, Plugins, and see if you have still checked "Load half sized images."

Sounds to me like before you were only loading the preview images that are embedded in the RAW files. Loading the actual RAW files takes longer, like what you are experiencing now.Originally posted by sowa View Post
