zoom in capture mode

I use Windows 7 ...my screen resolution is 1280 X 1024 (because it says it's recommended).
My Irfanview worked fine for awhile, but recently, when going to capture an image, after "control - PrtScn" are pushed, Irfanview zooms in on a portion of the screen ... not the WHOLE desired selection.
I use Irfanview alot and this problem makes it useless.
Could it be my screen resolution?

It sounds like a conflict with another utility. Mine does that too, but I have FastStone Capture installed, and I use Ctrl PrintScreen to show the magnifier.

on my system I can't change the capture mode of IrfanView to ctrl-printscreen-

So it seems to be another utility you are using for capturing.
Usually Windows captures by default the current window. But you have manually paste it into IrfanView.

Do you have another tool running?

Ctrl + PrintScreen is the default shortcut in IrfanView to capture a rectangular area.

@Bhikkhu: you're right. I didn't notice before that IrfanView does recognize the CRTL-print keys - but it has to be active...

However, Leveau, what settings are active in the "View / Display options (window mode)" menu?

tried EVERY plausible setting under "View / Display options (window mode)" ...to no effect.....It keep zooming into the upper left hand corner of my screen during capture. Perhaps we should re-name the app "Irfan 1/4 view"!
