    "Save" Folder Setting Doesn't Stick

I use a folder in my E: partition to always save images processed in iv.

But when I start iv it shows My pictures, My document, Desktop and then my this E: folder while default is My pictures at each start.

Even after I save a pic in that E: folder, at the next save it is again back to My pictures folder.

It is inconvenient. The file gets saved to that mypictures folder that is deepdown in c: users and then I have to search that and move pic to my EL flder.

How does I tell it to always, always, always use my E: folder.

    Thanks.

The Start folder, that appears when you first select File>Open, is set in Options >Properties > Start/Exit options, as Bhikkhu Pesala said. If you want it always to be E: then Choose "Specific folder", Browse to E: and set that.
The Save folder, that appears when you select File>Save, is always the same one as you opened the file from. If that was the E: folder then that is what should appear first when you Save.
The Save As folder, that appears when you select File/Save As, is the one you chose to use last time you did a Save As. If that was E: last time then it will be that again this time.

Note that all of these dialogs, Open, Save and Save As, have a "Recent folders" box at the bottom. Click the drop down arrow on that to select other folders you have used recently.
The dialogs also support Shortcut links. You can create a link to any folder from any other one. If the first folder is the one that appears you can double click on the link to go immediately to the other one. I leave my "Open" folder set to "My Pictures" but have shortcuts in that folder to all other places where I keep image files.

        Hi.

A windows trick that is nice to remember:
If you save the files in root folder on your E: partition, I rather suggest that you simply write "E:" in the file name textfield and hits Enter. That will lead you to the E: partition directly.

This applies to all windows apps*, not only Irfanview.

        * that open/save file with standard dialog box.
If it hurts not to drint, don't waste the bottle then.
