    Color Replacing

As we know, white is not always 255,255,255. It can be any of about 3500 colors from 245 to 255 for each of the 3 RGB colors. How can I replace NOMINAL white that has many color ranges to transparent black 0,0,0. Is there a way to replace a "range" say between 245,245,245 and 255,255,255? It is too time consuming to replace all 3500 or so combinations individually.

If you're using the colour replacer tool in the Paint dialog, adjust the tolerance.

What tolerance level and color number should I use to replace all colors between say 245,245, 245 and 255,255,255?

Try it and see. You're the one who has the images.

I tried changing tolerance to 100 but that didn't seem to change any colors. Does the number, say 10, relate to a 245 to 255? So that everything between 245,245,245 and 255,255,255 is changed? All very vague.

To replace colors, select the original color as background color and the new color as foreground color. The tolerance extends the range of colors to be replaced: background color ± tolerance.
