Irfanview can't handle modern transparent colors?

I have a .PNG file with lots of transparent colors and I reduzed the file size with Irfanview and the new .PNG file destroyed the transparent colors... Does anyone know why it happened?

1st pic is the original .PNG file, the 2nd pic is the new .PNG file.

Yes. IrfanView cannot save 32-bit PNG files; it can only load them and save them as 24-bit transparent images.

What exactly are you trying to do? Perhaps we can find a different solution.
      My system: IrfanView 4.62 64bit, Windows 10 22H2, Intel Core i5-3570, 16GB RAM, NVidia GTX 1050Ti 4GB

Wow, that's unfortunate. I really enjoy Irfanview's batch conversion tool due to its advanced features such as renaming converted files, deleting original files after conversion and so on.

If it's not against the forum rules, can you please recommend alternative tools that can handle 32-bit PNG?

I have not used it, but XnView is popular.
