Saving and Converting Images

Hi. I just started using IrfanView tonight. How do you save? Convert? I can't seem to do very basic stuff I'm working in Thumbnail and can't find a Save feature, except for Save Thumbnails. I installed the version from the Microsoft Store, think I need to install the direct version instead. Thanks in advance!

It is better to start your own topic rather than replying to an old and solved topic.

The thumbnail viewer is for viewing multiple images at once. Use the main IrfanView window for converting files to different formats.

Click the Save As button on the toolbar, or press the shortcut key "s" to save files. Select the image Save as type: image format from the droplist, then select the compression quality, etc. See my website for some basic tips on using IrfanView.
