All of this is over my head. But can anyone tell me if there is a way to convert photographs to line drawing on Irfanview? I know how to paste in a photo, enlarge it, sharpen it and save it. That's about all I know how to do. The rest is above my level of technology knowledge.

Do you mean something like the Find Edges filter on the Effects dialog?
