I earlier posted for help in saving an .ico image with a transparent background. I received help and was able to save my image. Now, for some reason this image has reverted to a BLACK background (my VIEW window is grey) and despite all my efforts all I get when I save is the image with a BLACK background. I have selected the save with transparent background option and get the follow-up window to click on image to set the transparent save. Again, WIN 7 (32), IrfaView v4.35. I get the same result if I save as transparent or transparent with background color.

Is this what you want? I just saved your PNG image as an Icon with transparency, with my view window colour set to grey.Attached FilesBefore you post ... Edit your profile • IrfanView 4.67 • Windows 10 Home 19045.2486

For me, it displays with whatever background colour I have set for the main window colour, e.g. white, grey, or black. Before you post ... Edit your profile • IrfanView 4.67 • Windows 10 Home 19045.2486

I'm not sure why, but I got my desired result. I used my original .png image with transparent background, resized it, then saved as .ico with BOTH save with transparent background AND use main window color options selected. The result was my original with its transparent background as a new .ico image. Can you please explain what's happening? Is there some Windows 7 setting overriding IV?
