Sorry if this has been covered before... When dealing with newspaper articles, I often have to create two images and then append one into the other because the article /obituary is split into two columns. The "Crop Selection" tool would save me a lot of time if when I cutout the unneeded portion, the background would be colorless rather than black. A lot of ink is wasted when printing black areas. Is this possible?

In Settings, Editing, you can set the Background Colour for Cut to White. Transparent is not an option, but you can save the images as a PNG.Before you post ... Edit your profile • IrfanView 4.67 • Windows 10 Home 19045.2486

I marked it as solved. If you edit your first post you might be able to change the status yourself; I am not sure if only moderators can do that. Before you post ... Edit your profile • IrfanView 4.67 • Windows 10 Home 19045.2486
