Who, how, and when is the status of a topic changed to "Solved"?

Seems to me it should be the OP. I started a topic, got an answer that IV could not do what I hoped, I asked for suggestions for solving my problem but my problem is not solved. Someone, somewhere added "Solved" to the topic name. How did that happen?

The question was answered. No, IrfanView cannot edit *.wmv files, but several other programs can.

I suspect that the OP can also edit their own topic to change its status? Have you tried that?
