Rejected Load Thumbs from SubFolders Retension

Irfanview is one of the few image viewers that allows you to display all your thumbnail images recursively for all folders and subfolders, but the display of all thumbnails is cleared if you perform a search and display of searched images.

Is there are way that the thumbnails displayed from subfolders can be retained and reloaded without completely rescanning subfolders from scratch every time you perform a search?

Image caching has often been requested, but rejected. See this earlier thread for example.

AFAIK Windows Explorer caches the thumbnails after you selected thumbnail view.
