Supported Can this be done - 'rough edge' section cut

IrfanView has a great feature I make use of quite a bit to cut the middle of an image out - "Edit -> Remove / Insert strip (uses selection) / Remove Horizontal strip (sel. height)", followed by "Remove / Insert strip (uses selection) / Insert Horizontal strip (sel. height)" - this cuts an arbitrary strip from an image and then inserts a 'gap' in exactly the way I want, but - I want to have a 'tear' or 'jagged edge' or similar to clearly show a removal was made. Something roughly like this:

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	79.2 KB ID:	98759

Or a 'thunderbolt' or 'sawtooth' edge; something to indicate a cut out was made.

    Hopefully this makes sense!

PS - A similar effect is already used in IrfanView in the 'borders' feature - Image / Add Border / Frame / Broken Edge Frame. This makes the above image look like this:

Name:	image.png
Views:	84
Size:	69.4 KB
ID:	98760
So what I'm looking for is the 'broken edge', as used in the border feature, but applied to the edge in a section cut! ?

This is something I have thought about requesting but I had forgotten about this forum and hadn't thought to look for e-mail address. Anyway, I wholeheartedly support the development of this. I would suggest that if the gap is one width only, it be closer together however.

Someone should send this request to Irfan Skiljan. He doesn’t visit these forums. His address is found in Help, About IrfanView.
