The brush disappears when you paint, this makes it difficult to see what will be painted (or erased) when using a large brush. Can you make the brush redraw as it is dragged?
Another minor bug. The About dialogue box doesn't close if you click the Close button, only if you use the OK button.
Enhancement Suggestion: Is there any way to make IV Paint highlight a portion of an image as requested in this thread? The best I could manage was cross-hatching with a transparent background.
Bug fixed.
I already received a request about a highliter function, but, I can't obtain a good result without introducing alpha blended brushes (and it's quite a mess). I think that, for the first release, we've got enough features: of course for the next release I'll try to add more functions.
IrfanPaint developer
The latest stable IrfanPaint version is the 0.4.13.70.
IrfanPaint is now open-source (released under BSD license).
I agree with MItaly that alpha things are a thing for the future, because it introduces quite some complex subroutines.
Let's first focus on the straight, basic 2D-tools.
I don't know about the exact requested nature of that thread Bhikku mentioned about highlighting, but since 'Enhance colors' is valid in a selected portion of an image (Shift+G) too, one could set the Brightness to the max for example.
completely rewritten precision cursors code (for the user this worths nothing, but the new code is object-oriented and much simpler for me to maintain);
exhaustive tooltips now enabled by default;
About dialog now shown centered on the screen
all other dialogs now shown near the toolbar;
added a little hint under the custom line style textbox;
fixed the "resample bug" (if the resample option was enabled very often IP didn't display anything); thanks mainly to Irfan for this;
fixed other minor bugs.
The internationalization is delayed to the next version; there's not enough time to make a decent work.
Note that in few days I have to send a definitive version of the dll to Irfan, thus please test this dll extensively, so that I can fix all the bugs before the official release.
